Over the past year, Trimseal has experienced many price increases from suppliers of material components which are necessary to
manufacture our extensive product line. With the recent hurricane disasters in the United States, the increasing worldwide demand for more oil and
gas has thinly-stretched supplies available to manufacturing companies such as Trimseal. Most materials used for our products are a by-product of the
oil and gas industries. Severe cut-backs in manufacturing 'plastics' have been dictated by resin suppliers. The long and short of this supply/demand
scenario is that custom manufacturers, such as Trimseal, who use materials made from resins, have been advised that delivery will be lengthy; some of
our suppliers have issued delayed delivery advisories of up to 3 months.
There is good and bad news with all of this! The bad news is that products made from vinyl, poly, and naugahydes (simulated leather
material) have experienced increased pricing upwards of 56%. Foam has experienced increases of 39% (for those products requiring foam-padding under the
vinyl or naugahyde). Board, ring metals, clothbound materials, lamination film, zip-loc sealers and inks have experienced increases, however to a lesser
extent. Transportation costs of delivery of materials to Trimseal and delivery of finished products from Trimseal to our customers has also been subject
to increased pricing.
How does this translate to you, the customer? Trimseal has made every endeavour to increase our prices as minimally as possible.
For example, a 39% increase in foam padding and a 28% increase in naugahyde does not reflect an 67% increase in a foam-padded naugahyde binder.
More realistically, this may only be 20 - 25% increase in the overall binder cost.
Wondering about the good news? The good news is that Trimseal has a healthy inventory of materials ranging from regular vinyl
to naugahyde, rings, board and inks. Trimseal has not been affected with the cut-backs to the supply of materials by our suppliers thereby leaving
our customers without products. Our customers will not find themselves in the position of having to compromise quality for materials not in inventory by
having to order materials through alternate, less reputable suppliers of materials. Trimseal has not had to compromise our high standard of excellence of
products and customer service within the current environment in our industry.
Regular turnaround delivery times should not be affected by more than one week. Most customers, depending upon the complexity of the product
ordered, are experiencing between 3 - 4 week delivery times from when the product was ordered. Index tab orders printed by Trimseal are being processed within 2-3 weeks.
Printed stock supplied (from Printer or customer) index tabs are being processed within a 2-3 day turnaround delivery time.
